If you have mild to moderate crowding → Invisalign may be recommended for better veneer results.
If misalignment is severe → Invisalign is required before veneers.

Not every patient requires gum correction. But if we recommend it, it’s because it plays an important role in achieving your desired outcome.
The good news: You’ll be able to see exactly which teeth require this treatment during the planning and smile design phase. This allows us to plan precisely how much gum adjustment is needed for your veneers to look natural and harmonious.
There are two main gum correction treatments:
Gingivectomy
Esthetic Crown Lengthening
Removes and reshapes excess gum tissue only.
Recommended for mild cases (slightly uneven gum line, square or short teeth).
Healing time: about 1–2 weeks before we start veneer preparation.
Involves adjusting both the gum tissue and underlying bone.
Recommended for gummy smiles or when teeth are very short/uneven.
Healing time: about 6–8 weeks before we can begin smile design and veneers.
A crown lengthening guide is often used for precision, ensuring gums and bone are adjusted to the correct level for ideal tooth proportions.
Correcting the gums allows veneers to be placed in their ideal position, with proper proportions and symmetry. It’s the difference between a smile that looks “better” and a smile that looks perfectly natural, balanced, and complete.
Once your teeth are aligned and your gums are balanced, the final step is ceramic veneers (also known as porcelain veneers). Veneers are the ultimate tool in cosmetic dentistry to complete your smile transformation.
