At SmileBox Kids, we don’t just care for teeth — we help your child grow, breathe, and thrive. With a focus on myofunctional therapy, we support natural development, clear speech, and confident smiles.
Most dental clinics focus only on cleaning, fluoride, and cavities. At SmileBox, we believe your child deserves more. Our approach looks at how the mouth, face, and airway develop — because these factors affect not just dental health, but also breathing, speech, and social confidence.

Myofunctional therapy is like “physical therapy for the mouth.” It strengthens and retrains the tongue, lips, and cheeks so that your child breathes, swallows, and speaks correctly. Children’s bones and muscles are adaptable at a young age, making early treatment highly effective.
Starting Myofunctional therapy early helps:
Myofunctional therapy is like “physical therapy for the mouth.” It strengthens and retrains the tongue, lips, and cheeks so that your child breathes, swallows, and speaks correctly. Children’s bones and muscles are adaptable at a young age, making early treatment highly effective.
Starting Myofunctional therapy early helps:
Correct habits like thumb sucking, tongue thrusting, or mouth breathing
Guide healthy jaw and facial growth
Improve speech clarity, reduce lisps or delayed speech
A confident child who can breathe well, smile freely, and speak clearly is more likely to thrive at home, in school, and with friends.
Why it matters: When oral muscles function the right way, everything from your child’s breathing to their smile improves.
At SmileBox, we focus on guiding your child’s growth — not just straightening teeth. Every child is unique, so treatment is tailored to their specific needs. In some cases, we may also use a combination of appliances over time, such as starting with an EF and then moving to a plate, or beginning with a plate and later switching to Invisalign First. This step-by-step approach gives your child the best chance of healthy, natural development with lasting results.
Children aged 4–10 are in mixed dentition (a mix of baby and permanent teeth). Treatments at this stage are called Phase 1, focusing mainly on skeletal development with secondary attention to teeth alignment.
Once all permanent teeth have erupted (around age 11–13), Phase 2 treatment begins, focusing fully on teeth alignment.
Skipping Phase 1 may result in longer, more invasive treatment in Phase 2 with less ideal results.

Dental visits can be fun and fear-free when children are met with kindness, patience, and a gentle approach. A warm, child-centered atmosphere helps build trust and confidence at every stage of care. Positive early experiences encourage lifelong healthy dental habits and reduce anxiety around treatment.
