Paediatric dentistry is the practice, teaching, and research into comprehensive and therapeutic oral healthcare for children. This is from birth to adolescence. This covers most aspects of dental healthcare from examinations to minor oral surgical procedures.

Our SmileBox Paediatric Dentists work closely with you as a parent and the other members of the dental team to ensure your child receives the best dental care, all whilst feeling safe and comfortable at our clinic. We made sure to dedicate part of our service solely to Paediatrics, as we believe it is our duty to educate children as much as possible about dental care and oral hygiene.

When will my baby start to get their first teeth?

Most babies begin to develop their primary (deciduous) teeth at around 6 months of age, though the timing can vary. In rare cases, a baby may be born with teeth already present (natal teeth) or develop them shortly after birth (neonatal teeth).

While this occurs in less than 1% of babies, it is generally not a cause for concern. Our paediatric dentists can assess the situation and provide guidance on whether any treatment is necessary.
