What are Dentures?

Dentures are removable prosthetic appliances that replace missing teeth. There are two main types of dentures: full and partial. Full Dentures are made for patients with no teeth at all.
Whereas Partial Dentures (also known as Removable Bridges), are made for patients with some missing teeth. They can be used for either the upper or lower jaw. Dentures help you chew food properly, improve speech and also change overal facial appearance by providing support to the
lips and cheeks. Dentures are custom-made in our expert dental laboratories here in Thailand.

You will attend multiple appointments at the clinic. Each appointment involves impressions and taking very complex measurements of your face. You will have a ‘wax up’ appointment this is where your Dentures are made in trial form in wax material. This is so you can visualise what the final set will look like, at this appointment we can make any amendments you require.

Yes! We offer Immediate Dentures. Immediate Dentures are made prior to extracting your teeth. This does require multiple appointments at our clinic, however this allows you to leave the clinic with a smile rather than a missing tooth.

No, the process of making your Dentures involves lots of impression taking and measurements. However, you should feel no pain during this. When you receive your final denture, you may feel some discomfort in your jaw and on your gums.
This could be a sign you need your denture adjusting slightly. If you feel discomfort it is important to visit the clinic so we can assess your mouth and adjust the dentures if required. Dentures do take some getting used to, especially Full Dentures.

There are two main types of dentures Partial Dentures (also known as Removable Bridges) and Full Dentures. Partial Dentures are to replace some missing teeth. Whereas, Full Dentures replace a full arch of missing teeth.
There are also two different types of material Dentures are made from, acrylic resin and metal. SmileBox Full Dentures are only made in acrylic resin. Acrylic resin is easy to adjust, it is important for the material to be easily adjustable as it takes a while for the mouth and bite to get used to dentures. Therefore, we can adjust the dentures until they feel comfortable in your mouth.

If you’re having Full Dentures you get to choose the shade of all of your teeth. You can make them Hollywood bright or you can opt for a more natural shade. However, if you are having a Partial Denture (Removable Bridge) we will match this as close to your natural tooth shade as possible.

Your dental professional will help you choose the shade, we will ensure you are fully satisfied with your chosen shade before you receive the final denture.

Over time, the mouth changes and bone is lost naturally. This causes the Dentures to become ill fitting. General everyday wear also causes the Dentures to loosen. Therefore, the dentures will need to be relined, rebased or remade. Dentures usually need remaking every 5-8 years.
